i just lost 4 dollars in my american express gift card?

because it failed trying to buy from EBAY but i checked my balance and it charged 1$ four times and on the description it said PAYPAL INC does that stand for paypal incomplete? So i lose 1$ every time i enter my card and it fails?
oh because i put in my card information nd it said that i put my info wrong or its not working so i tried putting it again couple times si if was just trting to validate it do i get my 4$ back?

PayPal does not allow pre-paid or gift cards to be used for PayPal transactions. I suspect it was trying to verify the account by transferring $1 from the card to your PayPal account. Either that, or it put a $1 hold on the AmEx card funds to ensure it was a valid account, and something went wrong. Either way, PayPal doesn't let you use gift cards, and when you break the rules of any complex system you can expect undefined behavior to result.
